First , Happy Holidays to all and thanks for taking a look at my post, I want to have a small block of wood, with a magnet imbedded inside, and I do not want any visible cut lines, I want it to look like a simple solid, never cut (Open) block of wood, it's all part of a puzzle I want to make, I thought a dark grainy wood , would be a good start, and rather than cut it with a band saw, I thought to split it, like fire wood, this way, no loss do to kerf thickness, and then I thought to use CA glue , not yellow wood glue as it is very thin, but with all, I still have tell tale lines, Thanks Dave.

Hello Dave,  One idea would be using thin veneers.  This has been done in the past to create the "One Piece Packing" Puzzle seen here https://www.cubicdissection.com/html/purchase/discont/OnePiecePackingPuzzle.html  See the close up photo here https://www.cubicdissection.com/pics/purchase/discont/onepiecepack1_l.JPG  The finished cube with the edges slightly beveled really looks like a solid block of wood.

You could also cut a block of wood with the grain, in-bed the magnet and then re-glue the cube.  This way the grain would help to hide the seam.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the puzzle! Post a photo of the finished puzzle, I would love to see it.

Hi Dave, indeed I agree with Peter's solution...any other way will inevitably leave tell tale signs of a 'glue joint'...Happy Holidays! Cool
