Almost two months in the making

Just finished the first of hopefully 2 entries. Its my 360 degree herringbone as I would imagine Eagle would do. It is made from .04" aluminium and .03125" ebony, two layers of ebony for every layer of aluminium. There are 978 pieces all together, which took 4 hours to cut, almost 24 hours to assemble, and another 24 to turn. It gave me some problems, but luckily these can be repaired.
Pics are not great, but it's late. I'll try to take better ones later.

That is a beautiful work of art. Only those who have tried the 360 herringbone will have a true appreciation of the complexities involved. When I did my first which is not nearly as nice as this, Eagle made me made a movie of it to show it spinning around. Bravo.

Beautiful work. My only suggestion is that you tighten the tip so it doesn't fall off.

Well, number two didn't make it so I'll just have to stick with this one. BTW #2 was/is a black construction paper and aluminum can woven wood. 24 waves, 4 interwoven in 6 positions. I'm on #21 and a can't wait to finish, but I'm out of aluminum cans... LOL always seems to be something. Anyways like I said, I've really enjoyed this contest and I think we've all made some awesome pens. Thanks again Lou.

Congratulations. You did a great job as did everyone else. I only wish I had the time to try out some of the ideas I had. Maybe next time.
