Keith nice loking blank, may I sudjest that when the blank is made not to turn it round and send it to Gerry square up, Gerry will have the hardest part to drill the blank, the blank should ( IMHO ) be clamped to holder the copper or brass metal, the drilling should start with small diameter in small increment until final drill bit, drilling should be facilitated with cold water to keep the metal part cool while drilling if heat is process while drilling the glue will melt and you can say Good By to the blank,  Just my 2 penny.

BTW Keith I think you should sand off a little the metal part before gluing .

Most of the time when Eagle would work on the metal and plexy pens he would wrap it in gauze before he turned it.  As he would turn it down he would constantly be adding Ca glue.  Hope this helps when you do the next one.
