I have been going through a ritual of cleaning up some old files in my office. As I do, and for some reason, Eagle has been on my mind a lot.

Several months back, someone had sent Eagle an e-mail. And he in turn sent it to several of us. I was impressed enough that I actually printed the darn thing out!!! Shocked  I happened across it tonight, and I think that it bears repeating. So as Eagle once shared it with a few of us, I now share it with the rest you. The e-mail appears below in it's entirety.

Titled :

Sent to me this am

"It is originally from a slide presentation from Binh Po, an accomplished turner. "
I am passing it along to you all and are interested in what you think of it.
Of course you realize I have issues with at least one statement

I met Binh at the recent AAW in Richmond, bought his book of his life story (couldn't afford his pieces) and went to his lecture where he discussed these, his life story and the inspiration behind his work.  He is a fascinating person and genuine human being.  One of his pieces auctioned for about $20K and worth every penny.  His piercing techniques are on my to do list.  I can see why Eagle was drawn to him.  Their art had many similarities in that both their lives were reflected in many of their pieces, they were incredibly detailed at the minute level, and every thing was hand done.

Binh Pho is a member of the Chicago AAW.  Sat down with him (and several other members) one evening for snack and "chat".  He is very real-an interesting and unassuming gentleman.

I LISTENED a lot that evening - I truly felt "out of my depth" in turning.

Yep, I reckon we could all learn a thing or two from those wise words.

Good post Dawn. Thanks
