So how many people have finished this challenge?

I was ripping along (past the first question), but then decided I'd better slow down or finish before the specified day. Now I have stopped because I want to finish it, start to finish, all on Halloween. This is clearly the only way to do it. Start at moonrise, finish by midnight. Bonus points for a good costume.

I added a "wall of fame" to the final page to show the first 10 solvers' names - so far only "Skarabajo" of the TwistyPuzzles forums has solved it AFAIK.
And, he did it the first day after it was published, with no hints at all. He told me he likes this kind of riddle-based puzzle and really enjoyed it.
So, I have an existence proof that the clues can work as designed  Wink

It's tough when designing this type of thing to judge whether a clue is too easy or too hard - I know exactly how to find the answers using web tools and only online resources (though I did check a book out of the library for the hell of it), and I believe all the clues are fair... but, as Nick Baxter told me, getting stuck = no fun, so I suspect some folks hit a wall and give up in frustration. Oh, well.

For those who are stuck - in general, don't forget to explore:
google
google images
other google tools
yahoo answers
amazon
wikipedia
any links on the clue page itself

I intended for solvers to have to read and think - I learned a bunch of things about Halloween that I didn't know. The associations that lead from one page to the next are hiding in plain sight. Evil

I wanted to say thank you for posting...I can't even imagine all the 'research' that went into something like this, very cool!   Cool

Are you going to make anymore based on other themes?  Perhaps one with a 'christmas' theme... Wink

I also wanted to mention that maybe a 'subforum' is needed to swap clues/hints and such... Undecided

Well, George (and others) - it's "the specified day" - so you're sailing along again and will be all done by midnight, right?

Happy Halloween!

I feel as if I missed out on an adventure.  It all sounded like great fun, but alas, once I got to the first page I realized that my current situation would not allow for the use of such time.  It is my hope that another adventure will come around in the future that I have time to play with.

Pinhead - if you are out there, I still have a bit of resentment on being beat at the tower game challenge a few years back.  I am chomping at the bit for a rematch in some other challenge that will no doubt also beat me at.
