All Hallows' Eve Web Challenge
«

Hi Folks,
I've put together a little online Halloween puzzle - a kind of web knowledge treasure hunt.
It was partially inspired by a site called "skyscraper 100" that had been around for a while (I don't know if the author ever finished it) -
http://skyscraper100.googlepages.com/
my challenge has far fewer steps, and a more Halloween focus.
No prizes, but I'm curious to see if anyone can solve it before the 31st with little to no hints...

The answer to every question is "42" right??? Isn't that the answer to the question on the meaning of life??

Me too ... and this is only the second level! The final questions must be really tough! I expected a few gimmies at the start ...

Brett and Nick Baxter got stuck there, too, but that was before I modified the page to make the clue
easier
- it used to be just:
It has another meaning
Who else would carry such a thing?
There is a fellow who has gotten to the last clue page with no hints, and he feels that I've made this clue too simple now.
It's interesting to see how any given clue is perceived - there is always a spectrum of perceived difficulty/ease. I guess it depends on any individual's random word associations.
BTW, John, I tried PMing you but the function didn't work for me for some reason. Clicking Preview and Submit did nothing. I had to exit the page.
Hopefully this gets through!
If you want another hint -

Also, thanks for posting a link to my blog, I've been getting a lot of traffic from your site!

Hmmmmmmmm...I think it might be a good idea to avoid mentioning clues/hints from levels as I was able to vault past my 'stuck point' by solving Brian's level, perhaps best to pm Rob instead of posting questions out in the open
I'll edit my post and Brian's to avoid this further, however...thanks Brian

A ha! The fact that you solved it based on what I said helped me narrow it down a bit. Now I'm on my way
