Peter W.,

So I am wondering if you have a "wait list" for your Trillium box.

Any plans for future boxes you can divulge to the public?

Peter, don't tell him about the magic puzzlebox that transports your soul into the inner chamber of the box and requires figuring out the soltuion from the inside in less than 2 minutes before you sufficate.  Wait - - Perhaps I have already said too much.   Smiley

Grin Hello Matt thanks for the interest, currently I've been crazy busy working on the Canadian version of "So You Think You Can Dance", so I haven't gotten a lot of shop time in lately!  What little wood working time I've had i spent making and perfecting the Lacewwod box design, and i feel I'm ready to start something new now

I did create a list of  puzzlers that showed interest in Trillium, but have no time to even consider if I will make a run of that puzzle box.

Going ahead my main interest is to design puzzle boxes with interesting and unique movement, and I have a few ideas in the design stages, one of those designs is a collaboration with another forum member,  and it's slowly in the works.  With work so busy it's been hard to find the time, but things are slowly coming along.  Don't want to give anything away, because it's in the early design stages, but hopefully it will get to a point where we are excited about making the puzzle box design!

Have you solved all of your IPP puzzle purchases? And what's keeping you busy?

Peter,

Been busy traveling.  Got about 10% of my IPP purchases "solved," but I am still waiting for some purchases to be finished and delivered.  Wink

Hopefully, the final Pagodas (#2 & #3) will be done soon, but who knows.  Wink

So can Canadians dance?

Still waiting to see Canuck put up a video of him performing the Macarena.

Peter,

I think I have not yet explained my solving process to you.

For typical puzzle boxes...

First, I like to look at the puzzle as a whole for a few minutes or up to several days-  taking mental notes on certain aspects of the box that may lead to solving it.
Second, I try to solve it for a few minutes or up to several days.
Thirdly, I like to forget about the puzzle for a while and get back to it with a fresh perspective.  Sometimes the solution to the box will just come to me when I am not thinking about it, but simply doing something else...
Lastly, I try to forget how I solved it, and put it back in the "rotation".

There are other methods:
Like the "Stickman Process" which is a much longer process (still working on some)
Sometimes the box solves itself by going through the United States Postal Service.  Huh? Shocked Grin
Lastly, the hammer, fire, x-ray methods are not my favourites.

A certain Australian I know uses the x-ray method. Roll Eyes Grin

Grin  The process works, but the solver does not want the puzzle boxes to catch on to the activity.  Wink

John,

If there's a process to solving women, let's document it and get rich!

(No one tell my wife I just said that!)

Chinney has admitted that he uses his dentist x-ray sometimes and cheats to figure out puzzles.

Jeff - if you take up knitting you won't need to put in a shop.  (See how I distract the competition).

Oh by the way, you can see some of Jeff's work here.  http://www.lhup.edu/jstrayer/Aurand2.htm

I don't know how the puzzlebox works, but I still feel intimidated.  Squash the competition while they are still young and can't fight back.  That is what I always say.
