hi guys

it is so quiet here, I think it could caused by two reasons:
may be all of you are so impressed by the puzzles in the Nick Baxter auction and the donations for it    Huh?
or
everybody of the participants of the IPP in SFO is packing the suitcases full with puzzles and they are all annoyed   Angry about the limitation of the weight through the airlines changed from 2 x 32 kg to 2 x 23 kg, and what is that in wooden puzzles, nothing

I had to send 30 kg in front and you can`t imagine how much I had to pay for sending these pieces to SFO      Angry Angry Angry

happy puzzling

Hi Bernhard, I am quiet to not disturb men at work for IPP..  2x23 Kg is quite a lot, You know that low cost european airline which has the limit of 1x15 kg....
Two weeks ago I was in Sardinia and I needed to carefully evaluate what to bring with me ..... but I had no puzzles to carry.... unfortunately! Cry

Indeed, I have no idea.

Sending it (<=30kg) from Belgium to the USA (Hawaii included) would cost €104... but sending the same package to the east coast of CanadA would cost twice as much (€208).

There are significant differences in postal charges between (European) countries. Sometimes you're far better off by sending it first to someone you know in another country and he then forwards the parcel to its final destination.

happy puzzling

Shh!  Do not wake the sleeping electrons!

It seems if you ship a lot, you can get substantial discounts.  How else can Shapeways offer free international shipping on any order over $25?  Of course, their shipments are usually under 1kg.  Maybe you should price your puzzles by the kg?

There are some very remote places in Canada, so I suppose "one price shipping" might be higher to account for the deliveries by dog sled in the winter!

that is a good idea, I`ll sell my wooden puzzles during IPP by kg; you can exspect some incireasing of the prices;
especially the 8 ordered NIne Bed Nightmares have a lot of weight; Grin Grin Grin Grin

Price puzzles by the kg, and they will all grow small!   Cheesy Wink

Check it out, the list of IPP design competition entries is up at

http://www.puzzleworld.org/DesignCompetition/2009/

With 80 entries, the judges will be working overtime just solving them all!
