Although I did say that the nut must have only one hole, I didn't say what shape Grin

Dang, I never would have thought of that!! Cool  Does this have some practical application?  I've never seen anything like it before Wink

Jeesh, of course it does John!!!! It has many uses. Paperweight, fishing sinker, handy gadget for chucking at the neighbours cat. Grin

But in reality, the only 'trick' is the threads. As the threads in the bolts mesh with each other it means that the threads in the nut had to start in exactly the correct place. Easier than it might sound. Just drill the three holes and tap just one of them. At this stage the untapped holes are still three holes and the tapping cuts the overlapping portion out. Insert a bolt in that 2/3rds hole. The threads on the bolt then guide the tap for the next hole. Put a second bolt in and then align the tap with the threads of both bolts to tap the last hole. If the holes were tapped seperatley then there is virtually no chance of getting more than one bolt in. Wink

Koeksister sounds a lot like our beignets.  A platfeul along with some chickry coffee and you'll feel like you are in New Orleans. LA.
