Initially I wanted to make 12, now 30 and counting, I can't stop, help!

For you non woodies, the centre ones are called pencilis multichroma causeiranoutofwoodstock

A very rare species only available at Duck River (heritage protected concrete drain) where I work

I'll post a finished pic soon, so cool, esp the burls

I fluke them

I am so good now I can duplicate my errors at certain steps, precisely

The cracks do not mate perfectly,,,,Hell! its a crack egg!

Has to do with the indexing ring, and getting it re centred

Just fun to play

Chinny has shown me how he makes these eggs.  My curiosity got the better of me and I had to ask.  His method is brilliant! Fantastic work!  Happy Easter everyone!

Crack egg Jig, for future budding eggsperts

Learnng curve, to conserve wood, the stand and little egg are made using the left side stock waste

Hey Bernhard, nice eggs, save one for me at IPP, so cool

Edit: extra pic removed at Chinny's request Wink

Aaah!!!! I think I understand now Grin

You index the lathe and slide the router in, then index the lathe and use a spacer between the router and the slide for the next cut? ( If you want different 'cracks' )
You would just need to remember to repeat the same matching pattern on the other half.
Am I correct? Grin.

In the UK, router bits that come to a perfect point are expensive. Normally they have a flat tip.  I'm lucky and have a good 60deg one.  Grin  Maybe I can make a 'CrackPen' Grin
