I think I must be a glutton for punishment to do this!! Huh? Or as Eagle would say, I'm having a brain fart Grin

I won't bore anyone with words on what I'm attempting, but I'll just post a pic or two as I progress. Besides I have blisters on my blisters Cry

Time to give the blisters a rest for a bit. My fingers are REALLY sore and my right arm is puffed up like Popeye's Grin
I'll have to be careful when I hold my beer tonight as I could end up throwing it over my shoulder when I go to take a sip Grin
I just have to get rid of any scratches and lumps'n'bumps then I'll start on the blank. Not sure what colour to use yet. Thinking of pearled dark blue or red?? Any suggestions?

That I presume that thingamagic is a pen blank, but it surely looks suspiciously like the tool they use in hospital when they do an assameoptomy!  Roll Eyes

About the color, stick with red since blood is red and it sounds like you've spilled some already. Looks great.  I know.... Patience to see the result!!! Grin

Just for clarity:  An assameoptomy is a procedure to cut off the nerve that runs from your ass to your face giving you that permanent crappy expression.
 Shocked Shocked Shocked

It absolutely remarkable to see someone smile after that op is completed. Grin Grin

This looks like it is going to be one of your truly great creations Steven.
I would go along with a dark blue, it will show up the swirling line of the stainless more.

LOL Phil,  I've got two but that would take all the 'fun' out of it. Grin  I actually do like working with hand tools as I often think I can get better results and have more control.
I tried using a RT on something like this a while ago and find that the abrasive burrs available aren't really up to the job. The little re-inforced cut off discs are great though.  Grin The little mounted stones don't last me five minutes either Sad

I've got another pic that should clear things up for the Old Man. Evil He might ever figure out what the long thin bit is for. Grin
I'll post it in about five mins.

OK, here's the pics with all the metalwork. LOL, when I stop rubbing and polishing the cap, maybe it will lose it's 'Stiffnes' and droop down over a pocket. Grin
