The picture that has 7 cubes in a bundle . . . . . ?

Is that the finished product, or did you just decide to put 7 of these cubes in a bundle for display?

Since Tom's puzzle is simply a cube this must be just a presentation thing of seven distinct puzzles...

Somewhere in my unfinished designs files I have something that looks like that 7 cube assembly.

I always try to use contrasting woods, but obviously not to the same effect as Boet with his Vega.

You must have a look at this puzzle for turning. 

It will give you the same effect as the Domino Cube by Oscar, except that it comes with a locking mechanism not the Q&D way.

Funny you should mention that because George Bell just released a design on Ishino's site called 'Quad Helix';

I checked it out on Burrtools.  On top its got that hollow cross and at the bottom a hollow square and a one unit square all the way through.
