I'm Bruce and I've been turning pens for 3 years now. I met Eagle through IAP. I admired his work and kept trying to come up with a scheme to meet him and pick his brain. We only live about 90 minutes apart. Then one day out of the blue he calls me and wants to know if he could visit me. I was floored. I'll tell more of this story in the "Stories and Tributes" topic.

Anyway, I wish I'd have picked his brain more. He was a great guy.

Thanks for putting this website together.

..... and for those of you who have never had the pleasure of meeting hiim .... Bruce is a great guy as well.  Way back after Bruce first joined IAP, I convinced him to detour through Macon on his way to visiting his parents in Florida.  He spent the night at my house.  Bruce and I had a great time collaborating on a turning project.  It ended up in a failure but it didn't matter.

As some of you know, Bruce and I share the great tragedy of each having lost a child.  I think it was probably the first time since my daughter died that I actually laughed.  For one night we put our troubles aside and just had a whole lot of fun.  He's never heard me say this before ..... but that night he taught me an important lesson about not giving up on life.  Thanks, Bruce.

Thanks Al. That was a great night for me as well. By the way, you still owe me a phone call. Grin

I got lucky enough to meet both of them at a (or both) Bubbasville meets. We need to get that going again.
