John when we talk about WD icosa, I mean to copy it for the challenge to discover how WD dissected the icosa, surely not for producing them in quantities...
Or you think we should ask WD anyway?

I don't think permission is needed to simply make a puzzle for our personal collection, I think the distinction is made when they are offered for sale...

Mark, perhaps there is some agreement pending similar to Wayne's 'All Five' puzzle Undecided

Technically speaking, one does need permission to make even one for whatever use. But I think that every designer should be proud when anyone wishes to have his designs in his/her collection. Anyone asks permission the answer should always be yes, they will make it anyway; but if you denied the permission you won't know that you are represented in such collection and won't have any reason to be proud.

Hi

the rights for production of Wayne Daniel`S  "All Five" is given to Mi Toys in China; they are producing it from bamboo wood and offered it first time two years ago during the International Toy FAir Nuremberg

happy puzzling

Yeah Bernhard, I have 3 copies of the all 5. well recommended to get them cheap, while it is still available

As for WD's Icosa, its best to end this topic of  discussion, and respect his wishes

I would like to see them mass produced thru him

Private personal copies will always be made, esp if they are unavailable

AS FOR MY WORKS, PLEASE COPY AND SHOW ME VARIATIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS, LOVE TO SEE BETER VERSIONS
