For the pen guys that don't want to make a puzzle:  This one you can just print, cut out and play! Grin

Cut out the three pieces, then arrange the pieces of paper so that you have a rider on each donkey sitting the right way up.  All this is done without bending, tearing, snipping or such to achieve the result.  There is nothing hidden when you are finished, everything is visible.

As you can see both donkeys are a bit "steeks" or looking as if they have nothing to live for.  The clincher is that when you have assembled the whole thing, both donkeys must run flat out as if somebody give each a swipe of turpentine in the ass!!

Credit to Sam Lloyd for the design.

Hi Johan and others,

I guess you also like Loyd's "Get of the Earth" puzzle. A nice exercise in counting heads!

Hi Jack

Yeah, I've actully got one in a book here, a working model.

I'm just nuts about puzzles and collect everything I can lay my hands on.  Otherwise I make them.  The Donkey test an artist friend of mine drew in pastels, then I laminated it for a permanent puzzle in my collection.
