Boet, is it Bill's or Steward's design.  Can't remember.

Something done for the weekend.  Pink Ivory

For the pen people, the aim is to put both beads on one loop, i.e. one of them needs to shrink through the hole!

Ou Toppie, very nicely done...I love that 'Pink Ivory' Shocked

Yes, for the record that is Stewart Coffin's 'Sleeper-Stopper' design #43 Cool
Also just wondering but Stewart's original only had one bead...have you modified the design?  Sorry to say I'm not that familiar with those 'topological' puzzle designs Embarrassed

Guys, you've got me stumped!

Ever since I made my first one way back when, it had two beads.

Seen some variations over the years.  One with a bolt on one side and a nut on the other side.  Get them to MATE! Or is it SCREW!

One bead or two, it still keeps you awake! Grin

Okay I checked this now in 'Puzzlecraft' and in fact Stewart's 'Sleeper Stopper' design #43 is made with only one bead.  His subsequent design 'Super Sleeper Stopper' design #44 is different by the addition of a second hole...

Jack anyway you could post a photo of the one you mentioned from '76?

I'm breaking copyright laws on this; I hope I'm forgiven: it's for the right cause: educating you all!
The picture is from the book Spelen met puzzels, written by Van Delft and Botermans, and published in 1978 (I was a couple of years off). This book caused my puzzle addiction.

This is a great puzzle design to stump someone for hours.  This is one of the first puzzles I made.  Here's a picture of my version with a nut and bolt theme Grin The nuts are recycled napkin holders, and I created the bolt from a dowel and a log I pulled out of my fake fire place  Grin Hey when you are really into making puzzles you will get your materials from where ever you can, hmmm now what can I create out of this coffee table  Grin

Is this a Stewart Coffin design?  I have a vintage puzzle I believe it was called "Strong Man" that uses the same principle  Huh? Here's a photo
