Another idea for the turners who likes a challenge.

From the following Webpage http://hccweb6.bai.ne.jp/~hfl35501/gingacraft.html

How about that one Chinney?  Can do or not?

Hi John

Unfortunately cannot read Japanese.  I think Berhard knows his name, so that we can at least give the credit where it is due.  There are some great puzzles there with a lot of possibilities.

The turning I'll leave to you guys on the dark side.  I have two lathes, but at this stage both are mostly ornamental, to Boet's great frustration.  I prefer the metal lathe for precision, but it is too small for most things.  Bed is 6" and swing is 3/8ths short of 3".

This specific puzzle I think is rounded by sanding I think.  I can't see how else you'll do it.  The opposite corners will also be taken out by the lathe.

Happiness Cubes is where block mode will work well.  I see both Bernhard and Jack have used it for some puzzles.

So....you can no longer lay claim to the 'Blocknut' title Grin

You know just when you think you've come up with something new or innovative, you find out someone else came up with it years before Roll Eyes  I had previously thought I was the first to be using a multiple buffing system on puzzles...but of course I later found out Jerry McFarland had been using his buffing system years before me Tongue  So as the saying goes 'everything old is new again' Grin

Indeed, how depressing.  I just got a book "501 mechanical movements" and noticed that a lot of the extremely unique mechanics I have incorporated in past puzzles were not that unique.  Still, you can take some comfort in knowing that you have come up with something idependant of anyone else.

Yeah, even if nobody else believe's it!   Tongue  Grin

Most important part of it: You know that nobody told you!  Gives one a bit of a boost sometimes to independantly think something up!
