My name is Rolando I love wood, my grandfather was carpenter and liuther. Only recently (actually few years ago, not so recently) I started to construct puzzles, at the beginning "copying" designs of VIPs in this field (Coffin, Dubois,... etc ), but later thinking also some new designs by myself. Usually I write a VRML model and visualize it, and possibly this help in finding some data (lenght angle).... Then I realize jigs for my miter saw (I do not use a table saw for puzzles) and finally I construct one or two pieces for each designs not more.
The only purpose I do not have is to sell puzzle. Realizing one "new" design takes me so much time and the challenge is to finally succed ......
Of course all my respect to whom that instead sell puzzles as a job.
Sorry I am in Offtopic now..... If someone will reply please use a plain language because my English is not so good... as my woodworking ability.
Here is the land of eagles ... but I am a hen!

Yeah, awesome work.  You should see the unimpressive equipment that he makes such impressive puzzles on.  The guy makes beautiful works of art with outdated machines.  He is a true amazement.

Great job on those puzzles, Rolando.

Don't sell yourself short, your work is very impressive, indeed.  Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your newest work as you finish it.

If you ever need any assistance figuring out a Stewart Coffin design, let me know.  I have many published resources of his designs. I'd be happy to help out.

Thank you to all for the warm wellcome. For transparency need I let you know that:
First I registered on another forum... I do not know if it can be mentioned here. I am still an user there as, I understand, some of you. I am not interested in the reasons of this multiple presence, I am happy to be a guest and learn from you, just to  say that I am not hyding anything, I am simply new on both.
The same situation there is also in Italy due to the presence of 3 forums of woodworkes and many people are registered on all of them. I have the role of moderator in one of this http://forum.il-legno.it/index.php

Yeah, awesome work.  You should see the unimpressive equipment that he makes such impressive puzzles on.  The guy makes beautiful works of art with outdated machines.  He is a true amazement.

Thank you Roby, this refers to the other forum in which I posted photos of my tools. They are not only outdated but all, but the miter saw, are also very inaccurate (poor quality). If it is the case, I will also post them here or simply a link... Let me know

Thank you again.

Rolando, of course there are no problems with being a member on any other forum, I'm a member of many others as well Wink  Although just for the record, I have been banned completely from the entire 'Cubicdissection' server...apparently I'm a bad influence on others  Shocked  Grin   Cool

By all means post pics, otherwise I'll never see them on the 'other' forum Grin

Hello Fortunato (Amos), I assume you do not speak Italian but surely you know it better than my English. Here I am in a double trouble: first because I am a poor woodworker among masters, second because they joke  Grin and I do not understand anything! Kidding of course, the truth is that I found here many friendly guys that tolerate me and help me in feeling wellcome. Ciao

Rolando, I grew up in Little Sicily here in Australia, my father was a Market Gardener, and we lived in a Market Gardening area, when I was a kid we still used Draught Horses to pull the ploughs! all the farmers around us were from Sicily or Catania, the butcher was Italian, Baker was Italian, the builders, the mechanics, the----yes all Italian, and guess what they spoke ALL the time---Sicilian Dialect, except when they went to the markets and they started with broken English. So I can speak Sicilian Dialect!! but English is my Language and my Italian is rusty, nevertheless when I speak with my parents it is in Italian. Amos Smiley

Hello and welcome to this site.  I am neither a pen maker or puzzle maker but I enjoy coming to the site just to look at all the work the others do.  This site was established in my husband honor and all are welcome.  It is so nice to here from people all around the world and to see their creations.  Again welcome and don't be shy as I can tell this is a great group of people on here and all are willing to help when possible.
