Here is the reason why I am now makeing snowflakes.  This is the insane prototype for the puzzle I was working on last month.  It boggled my brain to the point that I had to do something else for a bit.  Notice that a lot of parts are made out of leftover holly pieces from my last puzzlebox, seperated by veneer inlays.  There is a wooden chain that connects one of these holly gears to other components, but the shape of the gear only allows force to be transferred in a single direction.  The wheel in the back picks up bb's like a waterwheel and brings them up to another level where a threaded platform picks them up and takes them over to . . .   gads I can't even explain it.  There are so many freakin cams, gears, pullies, levers, flywheels.  I think I bit off a bit more than I could chew.

Heck, I don't even understand what I am talking about.  I'll come back to that one when my mind stops being jelly.

Robert,

To get this box working, one group of people would tell you to get another box to place all the parts from the before mentioned "box" and shake, rotate.... and in a few billion years the box should be working to your standards.  Wink

Other groups:
    Change your state of mind.
See beyond the problem to the solution.
Let a hammer sort things out.
    Ask a Canadian.  Grin
    Ask a engineer.
    2+2=5
invent another component for the box to tie things up nicely.
   magnets
Sell it as a "build it yourself kit", where  as the puzzle is to figure out how the parts interact to make the puzzle.

Several of of your options are the same thing.

Let a hammer sort things out is the same as ask a Canadian (sorry haven't poked a Canadian for a while).
2+2 = 5 is the same thing as change your state of mind.

Actually Mr. Matt Man, I think that while my pictured project will be on the back burner for a while, my next project is going to be one that you suggested a long time ago.  Remember the two boxes that require proximity to eachother to open.  Yeah, I bumped that idea up a notch and already have a design, but need a few days to finsih up these snowflakes to start on.

By the way, the prices for these snowflakes should be cheap.  You can now replace the one that your cousin opened with that hammer.

yep, I like lists, but did not put it in order with the "main topic" and an example for the ones that could have had before said connection...
2+2=5 could be more very forced state of "changing your mind" -(Totalitarianism)-, while another form of "changing your state of mind" can be done without Totalitarianism i.e. communists.  Wink

Always glad to be of service.  Smiley

Plus, you are short selling yourself by calling something "cheap"...

Lets get out that handy thesaurus:
low priced, competitive, bargain...

Reasonably priced in this down market economy.

$50-100  sounds better than $250-2000 for a larger box of the same design.
Now the 1st editions price average should slightly go up.   Smiley

Price increases on first editions.  Didn't the last one sell at auction for $1005.  I don't think it needs to go up any more.
