This is my attempt at Eagle's Feathers blank.  The materials are alternate ivory, wood veneer and aluminum.  It is a six sided design.  There are a total of 30 cuts made in the blank and 150 inlays.  I still have some minor issues with the process that I need to resovle, but overall I'm fairly happy with the pen.

As always, thanks to Eagle for the inspiration and motivation he gave me.

Thanks guys  Smiley

John, when you feel the time is right you should go ahead and put the blank in a pen.  You know that's what he intended for it.

Keith,

The pen is beautiful.  As for the rest of you I feel when the time is right you will turn those blanks into masterpieces.

beautiful work.  Do you use a scroll saw, band saw, table saw, combination there of?  Do you and others who may respond purchase the thin wood or cut your own?  how do you keep all the glue from being scraped off?  I have done some segmenting where I cut all the way through the blank and then just reconfigure the pieces (still learning).
God Bless,
Eric

Eric, from what I know they are done with a scrollsaw...beyond that I'm out of answers Wink  They are the most stunning blanks, you'll ever have the priviledge of seeing up close... Cool  By the way check out 'Akbar's Feather' blank in the raffle Shocked  For a small donation you can have a shot at winning it  Grin

Keith,
I know this thread is old. but having just came across a feathers blank still wrapped in gauze, your angles are off.  I am not saying what you have done is wrong by any means.  It is in fact your version.  The angle should be more in the 75 degree range, but I can tell you more once I turn off the gauze.  Everything else looks great.  Can you tell me what guage aluminum you used?
