Thought I should show the pen guys a great design by Bill Cutler made in block mode.

It's made of 253 blocks glued together to make the 21 puzzle pieces.  This equates to 3036 edges that were chamfered.  14 Pieces make up the frame and 7 pieces are the working parts.  85 moves to remove the first piece.  The design is based on the age old Chinese ring puzzle and is a sequential move put together take apart puzzle.

This design from Bill Cutler also won the first prize in the 2003 International Puzzle Party design competition.

Wait until the other guys start showing.  That's why I jump in at this stage, because it will only get better once they are past the shyness!

Yeah Bill Cutler is an IPP original member, he basically wrote the 'book' on six piece burrs on computers back when the 'commodore 64' just broke on the market....he assembled guys from many parts with access to mainframe's at the time in order to configure all the millions of possible burr combinations, definitely a labour of love for him.... visit Bill's website for more info;

Here's a pic of another incredible design that Bill came up with when he was 16 years old, '66 Piece Cube' made by the 'burr king' Jerry McFarland!:

Is it true that the one step solution to every burr is a larger hammer.

Well it just so happens I have a story related to that very thing;

I had made a burr puzzle but the woods had swelled to the point that it had frozen hopelessly shut, so after being stymied for hours finally took the hammer to it and managed to get it loose but in so doing had busted a small piece off and made things worse....I finally did manage to get the puzzle apart but not quite the way I wanted Embarrassed

I just made Burr #305, it's a 6 piece solid burr. Will that hammer also help me to assemble this stupid thing???

Steve, here's a link to a burr solving site with animation, you won't need the hammer Wink

This puzzle has been listed on the Cubicdissection Marketplace auction starting very soon.  Good luck on the sale, I hope you do great with your items, Johan! This and the Quadlock look fantastic.  Don't be surprised at the high prices these may fetch!

I also noticed two stickmanbox puzzles are listed, the chess box and domino box.
