Johan and Jack, your stands are amazing, tailored on the puzzle's style. The mine one is simply a personal taste. The only stand I like, but of course it is not suitable for trade, is the Jupiter glueing jig, made for me by a machinist in alu....
Unfortunately my craftmanship level is much lower than that of the jig .. but I am fully manual, no CNC  Grin

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.......okay I'm only gonna' say this because Chinny hasn't yet: I put DIBS on your 'Jupiter gluing jig stand'

I know you said it wasn't up for trade, but really that's not fair when you don't even know what I'd be willing to put up in trade Grin

Just kidding Rolly, but there are some amazing puzzles in that pic Shocked

English lesson number 13334324; John you have to be patient  Grin I meant "not selling" also because the jig was a gift, but I realize now trade is used for "exchanging".
You are right: it is not fair ... to post messages without knowing to write them correctly. Please continue teaching me  Grin Grin

BTW Where is chinny? Was he biten by one of his patients?

Everything I said was just in fun Rolly Grin

Chinny is having another mid life crisis

Don't get married and don't have kids!! Grumble Grumble

Been watching the posts, just don't have any useful comment

Love that stand on the Jupiter Roly, how appropriate that the jig is the stand, very clever

And Johan's stands are incredible, always feel that a good stand in the background enhanses the puzzle

I always try and make a stand on the turned puzzles, waste not want not on the excess stock
A good stand is the finishing touch to a great puzzle

I must admit that since 99% of what I make is for my own collection, the stands for me are an integral part of it.  It is generally made from the leftover bits and pieces I cut for that specific puzzle.   So all of what you've seen are unique one off puzzles and stands, which are actually in a sense prototypes.

Don't know what will happen when I decide to make 10 or twenty of a puzzle. Grin

Apart from stands, it is right the same for me. My pleasure is to calculate, make the computer model, think the jig, make the jig, make ONE prototype and enjoy if it works. After that is time to change design.... another challenge.. mr P does not permit me to do more.
